We live in an existence where people of different generations have different opinions, attitudes, and outlook on life. Due to these differences, the younger and older generation feels that they cannot relate to each other. They are unable to express their feeling with one another which causes communication gaps. Most of the time when the elder tries to talk to their kids, the kids feel like their parents are imposing their will on them because they want some freedom. On the other hand, when the teens try to communicate with the grown-ups, they think that they do not understand them. Capulet and Lady Capulet want an arranged marriage for Juliet with Paris, but Lady Capulet is more eager to marry off Juliet than Capulet who shows a little hesitation at allowing her to marry so young. Lady Capulet orders Juliet, “Well, think of marriage now. Younger than you/ Here in Verona, ladies of esteem,/ Are made already mothers” (1.3.71-73). Despite her husband’s hesitation, Juliet’s mom tries to persuade her to think of marrying Paris. She even uses as an argument that many young girls of her age are already happily married. But on the other hand, Romeo and Juliet believe in love marriage and love at first sight as they fell in love with each other at the party. Romeo is mesmerized when he sees Juliet, “Did my heart till now? Forswear it, sight,/ For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night” (1.5.51-52). To put it another way, Romeo sees Juliet and forget if he was in love before because he realized what true beauty is that night.
