Combat photography. It does not mean fighting with cameras but rather document military actions, political uprisings, war zones for both military and news organizations , capturing armed conflict, and life in war-torn areas. There are many different positions for combat photography, but basically two very defined groups stand above the mix. First are those who work for and are apart of the United States government whether in a Department of defense, the Navy, army, or Airforce. Then there are the photojournalists who work as combat photographers for large newspapers or news agencies. If you’re interested in pursuing a military job in combat photography for United States the qualifications include having normal color vision, an Armed Services …show more content…

A combat photographer could also be responsible for drafting reports, managing photography software, maintaining camera equipment, and even running the unit’s photographic operations budget for their specialized role. Combat photography does not really seem to follow a type of trend, but rather than following a trend became photographs could become iconic as soon as they were published through a show of understanding of war and its human cost. It’s more like that peak action shot or a capture of a momentous scene or event during a war that over time develops into an iconic combat
The role of the news-making photographer in Gardner’s era was to document the history that was in the making, documenting the battlefield and anyone that would be considered a pioneer of the news. They also had a role to make large photographic prints. Today, photojournalist’s play the role of being a visual story teller. They have to photograph, edit and present the images they shot to tell a story that no one else can tell. They have to be knowledgeable about the trade and have to be able to use all the tools provided really well. The time from Gardner’s era and today technology has changed and the equipment has advanced so far that more advancement is continued to be used to the fullest. The only thing that I have really seen be the same is the way photojournalist photograph their subjects. Some photojournalist even still use the darkroom to produce their images and that has been around for ages.
The Helmet Massacre was a horrible genocide where Brazil's 200-plus. It is similar to Wiesel’s account of the Jewish Holocaust in Night because the people die and the have to work and brazil 120 people die. At the same time it is different because the people die at Hepatitis and malaria. In 400 years of contact, the ticuna nation has managed to preserve their personal identity through their native language, religions, rituals and cultural art forms. The helmet Massacre occur place in 1988.
Images can manipulate many scenarios but it’s tactic used to show the realities of our world. Despite what we see, picture taken of the war and events occurring in the war doesn’t mean they aren’t real. We all live in a messy world and history is constantly repeating itself. Pictures are taken to spread awareness and empathy. It is a reason DeGhett argued that the Iraq brunt solider photograph taken by Kenneth Jarecke should have been posted in order for the public to get a sense that the war occurring at the moment is nothing like in the movies. Images are powerful and we must learn to always look closely and
“Man O’ War was the kind of thoroughbred that brought you closer to divinity than most people had been before.” This quote by an unknown describes Man O’ War well; “Man O’ War was America’s legendary thoroughbred race-horse” (“Man O’ War 1917-1947”) and was the type of horse that taught his rider, the people around him, and the entire world that if you keep pushing you can reach any and all goals. Man O’ War was a loving horse that made many feel as if they were getting closer to God. To most people, Man O’ War was a work of art that was brought down to them straight from God because he was perfect; he was a gorgeous stallion that seemed to most as unbeatable. Man O’ War raced his heart out and dominated every race he was in, even the one race he lost. Man O’ War was an important figure in the 1920s American history because he changed the perspective of horse racing forever.

When it comes to combat assignments and the needs of the military, men take precedence over all other considerations, including career prospects of female service members. Female military members have been encouraged to pursue opportunities and career enhancement within the armed forces, which limit them only to the needs and good of the service due to women being not as “similarly situated” as their male counterparts when it comes to strength or aggressiveness, and are not able to handle combat situations.
There are various parts of the military that people can be in. One branch that you can be in is the Navy or there is the Marines. There are a lot more branches but those are the two main big branches. The first thing you are going to learn about is the military-industrial complex. The definition of the term military-industrial complex is the physical location of military production. Some examples of military-industrial complex are “ the aerospace complex in southern california, the ship building complex on the southern coast of south korea, and the Isolated military research complex of kadem gordok in siberia.” (“military-industrial complex”)

Webster’s dictionary defines the word profession as a type of job that requires special education, training, or skill. Many Soldiers would not consider the Army as a profession but a way of life. Some think the word profession belongs to everyday jobs like a plumber, mechanic, or doctor. Dr. Don M. Snider stated “the Army is a profession because of the expert work it produces, because the people in the Army develop themselves to be professionals, and because the Army certifies them as such” (Snider, D. M. 2008). In October 2010, the Secretary of the Army directed the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) to lead an Army wide assessment of the state of the Army Profession. We have been at war as a Country for over a decade and the Army wanted to know how to shape the future of the Army as a profession and the effects the past decade had on our profession.
In the future, there may be more ways in which war may seem more romantic. As our technology grows, so does our capability to destroy ourselves, and censor wars reality. Our capability to manipulate media will grow and be able to influence more and more people. Images of war will continue to change the social and political landscape. It has already been proven throughout the 20th century, and no doubt will continue through the 21st. The photograph changed the way war is portrayed. Images of war will never go back to the genuine romance they once portrayed.

This issue being addressed and investigated is the police use of deadly force and the contents that lead up to the use of deadly force. Looking at police policies and the statistics of officer involved shootings of unarmed victims just simply doesn’t add up. The use of deadly force has continued to increase as decades past and determining the issues behind it is crucial for helping maintain a positive image from the public of police officers. Incidents such as Michael Brown and Ferguson are the cases that provide the evidence needed to prove deadly force is not always the option and can be overused by police officials at times but is also sometimes necessary depending on the circumstances. The primary cause of this issue is

Photojournalism was started during the Crimean war by a gentleman named Carol Szathmari. Szathmari was born on January 11th, 1812 as a noble descent. He first studied as a painter but then became a very enthusiastic traveler. He first began to experiment with photography in 1848, soon after filled a wagon his supplies and followed the war, capturing many battles and important moments. Roger Fenton was another photojournalist who took pictures of the Crimean War. His mission was to captured evidence that contradicted the description of William Russell who was a war correspondent. Russell was condemning the militaries failure to provide sanitary living conditions for the soldiers. Roger Fenton faced many challenges while photographing the war for four months. Having to develop all of his photos on wet-collodion plates with unclean water proved very demanding in the sweltering heat. He proved to be very successful and came back to London with 360 snapshots of the war between Turkey, Russia, and England. The Crimean War established the base for photojournalism and started a tradition that will live on into the future.
