Around the world, daily human activity is contributing to changes in the climate that threaten the ability of the Earth to sustain various forms of life. While some of these global climate changes are affecting the lives of people today, the real consequence will be felt by future generations of people and the plants, animals, water and air they all share. In this paper, I will explain the how climate change has a negative affect for the global population, while particularly evaluating how China’s air pollution is causing distress on a global sphere. Some of these “policies are focused on controlling vehicle emissions, which include China decreasing the emissions from light-duty vehicles by 78, 88, 90, and 85 %, and further decreasing the emissions from heavy-duty diesel vehicles by 65, 66, 30, and 67% in some of their major cities” (Hong Huo, Bo Zheng, Michael Wang et al., 2014). This is important to recognize because China is a growing city and by acknowledging their usage levels of vehicle will help them to control and lower these emissions despite a developing population. On a global scale, these policies are important for other governments to consider, especially in developed countries, because the number of people using vehicles daily can and need to be reduced in order to save our climate. In addition, the type of vehicles being used could make a big difference as well.
