Climate change is a subject that can be open for misinterpretations. This means that people are able to think multiple things about on this one subject. A thermometer can say 100 degrees Fahrenheit does not mean that it will be hot to everyone. Temperature is just one aspect of climate. Climates are, "the composite or generally prevailing weather conditions of a region...averaged over the years"(Dictionary.com). Conditions will vary through specific seasons which is why they have to under surveillance for many years then the climate zones are labeled from there. These zones have a range of seasons and are all drastically different than the other. The classification identified is climate zone is how the vegetation reacts to seasonal change. The reaction is important because how the land reacts to the air can determine various results. Reactions of vegetation is regarding how the leaves change on trees or how much of the plants die off. It is important because the tundra has vegetation but most of it dies off. As for in a continental zone, the vegetation does die off but not the majority. The more precise it is the less chance for confusion. There are three climate types warm, cool summer along with subpolar. The warm summer climate is like the monsoon climate. It gets the moisture from the wind that comes from the ocean. It is different because continental zones are only in the northern half of the world. Cool summer climate has low temperatures and snow due to the air coming from the Arctic. The climate zone further up from there is subpolar. It has long cold winters with little precipitation. It is this climate that is the closest to the Arctic. This zone ranges from the Arctic and the Arctic circles. The two climate types are tundra and ice cap. The classification identified will be the temperature in the zone. In the tundra, the temperature can reach up to fifty degrees Fahrenheit during the summer. This allows for some vegetation to grow which brings in animals like a moose to eat. Summer never lasts long due to the closeness to the pole. The animals and trees often die off as quickly as they came. The ice cap climate, however, is not the same. The temperature rarely reaches above freezing during the summer. The lowest recording was negative one hundred twenty-eight degrees Fahrenheit. The reason is because of the large ice sheet.
