Case Study The Client, Asha Jones is 17 years old. She has just completed CAPE and is expected to be promoted to upper six where she will be able to complete the second part of CAPE. She is currently four months pregnant and is expected to give birth something in November. Asha lives with her mother, father and two siblings. Her parents are supporting her and are looking forward to her going back to school. Based on the information received, it is of my opinion that some of the problems and issues that Asha might face are:

At this stage I believe it is important that Asha be part of a group of young person who is going through the same thing as her. In this group, she will be able to interact with others and learn the necessary information required to be a good mother. At this stage it will also be a good idea to make sure that Asha knows her options. Going over information with her about adoption and abortion will be a must so the client is able to choose what is best for her. This will allow different agencies to come together to ensure that she is on the right track. "Joint commissioning/planning should also help agencies tackle the gray areas in the health and social care boundary. Joint commissioning fosters a focus on needs rather than organisations; it also raises the profile of users and carers with the aim of improving access to services."(Reed) The information that will be needed to create the collaboration are the names and contact information of all medical agencies, doctors, group work leader and school teachers associated with the client. The additional information that I will share will the client is information about sex and prevention. Educating her on this subject helps her to know all the necessary prevention to prevent pregnancy and any sexual transmitting infection.
