Recommended: Debate on female circumcision

After reading about circumcision, I think this should be the right of the parents, since by the time the child will be able to make the decision, it would be a painful procedure. Since it differs in many different cultures on how to handle this situation. For example, religiously, it is common in Jewish and Muslim culture to have the child circumcised. If the parents are indecisive about the decision, I think the parents should have the child circumcised, because of the health benefits that are associated with it. The child is 11 times less likely to get a urinary tract infection, reduces the chance for prostate cancer, and lowers the risk of sexual transmitted diseases(Hyde, Delamater, p.79).
