Part one- What were the circumstances surrounding your conversation with the unbelieving person when you presented the gospel to him/her.
On Sunday, I went with Go Ministries to Jefferson Park to play with the children and to do door-to-door ministry. I went with a group of people for the door-to-door ministry. We started out the conversation with asking people for prayer requests and then, if we could, we would ask them about the gospel or what they thought about Christianity. One lady kind of knew the gospel but was not entirely sure. So we got to present the gospel to her. I personally got to present the gospel while praying with the people twice. This experience was really out of my comfort zone. It was hard to be an outsider and not prepared for what was to come and not speaking one of the languages used to understand the entire service. This service learning project gave me the opportunity to try a new church and gain a deeper respect for a different religion. Everyone at the service was very educated on speaking the sacred texts and participating in the rituals practiced. I hope to have gained a better understanding for those who are new to religions and are nervous to come to a worship service. I will make more of an effort to be welcoming and accommodating to those who are new to our church.
In my paper I will talk about my visit to The Community Church at Murphy's Landing (CCML). I have chosen this particular Church because it is a family church type and my neighbor goes there and she encouraged me to go with her. I went there with my neighbor on April 6, 2014.This church is an appropriate for this assignment because the people there are welcoming me with an open heart and they are willing to help and provide me with information. When I visit the Church’s site I read these words “We know visiting a new church can be intimidating. But, we want to help you to be as comfortable as possible when and if you join us”. The people gather in the church weekly to glorify God in joyful worship. The expressions of worship on CCML take many forms a prayer, a hymn of reverent awe, a guitar ringing with a chorus of praise, or a warm handshake and a welcoming smile. Their weekly services begin at 9:30 each Sunday at church. Also, they have weekly podcast if anyone wants to listen online. They have many types of services for parents, kids and students. People at CCML were so friendly; they gather around me and start welcoming me, one by one. People there introducing themselves to me, one after another and provide me with their contact information and help. Then we start talking about the church services and Christianity in particular. The mission of CCML was knowing, growing and loving. They seek to live out our mission by worshipping together as a local community of believers, growing in spiritual maturity through discipleship, education, and small groups, caring for one another within the context of the larger church body and small groups, and Communicating the love of Christ to our world, both through local outreach and global mis...
However, I will do some events for the lost. Because those events can help young Christians become comfortable with evangelism. By leading events for non-Christians I can have proper doctrine taught before they come to Christ. I also expect the congregation to be trained in one-on-one evangelism. Focus on teaching the simple doctrine of salvation.
I spent every spring and summer in middle school doing mission work and community service. I loved the opportunity that it gave me to build relationships and share my beliefs with people I didn’t know. Little did I know that this would pave the way for a life-changing experience that I would encounter one day. Each spring my church would host a missionary event called “The Ignite Project.” I felt an urge to join the group, recognizing that it was a calling to profess my faith in Jesus. On 08Jan2018, PFC Niola and I went on a morning detail for 0930 at Most Precious Blood Church. There was a great deal of traffic so I decided to call the funeral home at 0849 to inform them that we were in route. We arrived in the area at approximately 0920 having to park the vehicle on 37th street due to traffic. Trying to save time we walked through a path that allowed us to cross over to 36st street as we searched for the church.
Another command God has given to all Christians is to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15) Although I haven’t gone to any other country to share the gospel, I have done a few things to answer this call (but not nearly enough – there are hundreds of lost people I’m around every day of school to whom I rarely formally witness). A few weeks ago, I entered a challenge with See All the People challenge ministry. We were supposed to describe how our congregation would engage the community in an outwardly focused way. Although we didn’t win, I learned a lot. I interviewed a few members and staff of the church. I asked them why they were members of the church or what our was church doing.
The event that I attended was my Good Friday church service. The speaker was my pastor, Hugh Brewer. The service was held at First English Lutheran Church in Lennox, South Dakota. The purpose of this sermon was mainly to inform, but included some persuasion as well. The specific goal of this sermon was to show how we as humans don’t remember the real reason as to why Jesus died on the cross for us.
The Church itself is on top of a moderate size hill on my home town’s main street. It is very large in structure with other structures a part of the church surrounding it. However, it created an “all welcome” feeling from the way the outside looked. The outside was made of white stone rocks and rose wood roofing. The inside was very open, had red brick flooring with the priest’s podium in the center.
As my friend Jenni and I entered the hall of the big church, a feeling of apprehension overwhelmed us. Our feelings were soon comforted when we entered a sea of smiling faces and outstretched hands. A sense of belonging engulfed us. Ms. Shirley, an older colored woman was first to extend her arms. She did not know us from Adam, but it did not matter. She threw her arms around us. "You girls have the prettiest smiles", she declared. "I am so glad you came to be with us this morning." Words can not describe what the act of kindness did to our feelings of apprehension, and that was just the beginning.

For my observation trip, I decided to visit St. Ignatius Church in Oregon, Ohio. I visited a mass at 11:30 on Sunday November 19. I decided to visit a catholic church because my family has no religious background whatsoever, and I decided that I could go with one of my good friends that way if I need to ask questions, she was there to answer them for me.
I was afraid, but I continued to pray and asked God for directions. Fay states, “God has called each of us to share our faith, in obedience. He has called each of us to evangelize. If one of your excuses for not sharing your faith is, “I don’t have the gift of evangelism,” then you need to examine Scripture. You find the command of the Great Commission to evangelize, to encourage evangelism, and to urge evangelism.” I really enjoyed spreading the gospel because it gives me joy. Christianity is the religion based on the life, death and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, also known as the Christ or Messiah. Jesus was a Jewish teacher and prophet who lived in Palestine in the first century CE. He revealed himself to be the Son of God in fulfillment of Hebrew scripture, and taught that the Kingdom of God was imminent, bringing with it forgiveness and new life for all who believed. His claim to be the Messiah roused opposition from religious and political authorities and he was imprisoned and crucified. His followers believe that after his death, Jesus was resurrected before being taken up to heaven.
