There is a lot of discussion about the population of those who lived in the Americas before Christopher Columbus had “discovered” it. In the document, one of the lowest estimates of the number of inhabitants in the Americas before Columbus was as low as 500,000. This estimate was created by someone who did not believe the inhabitants were capable of such thing, just because someone from a more "western" developed country had not been there.
