Recommended: How will scholarship impact my educational journey

Value and scholarship are usually thought together to be the value or amount of a scholarship, yet the value of a Christian scholarship offers a new perspective upon these two words. The value of a scholarship is not in the award amount rather what the individual will be able to gain from this scholarship. The value of a Christian scholarship allows one to be together with others who are in the same mind of thinking and be able to grow as an individual. It allows people to deeper their thinking and see a new standpoint into the world they live in, and to strive for more knowledge and be willing to deepen their awareness and understanding. The value also lies in having humility in staying true to ourselves outside the norm of the world. Today, people are into establishing who they are, attacking others verbally, being with themselves, yet having a Christian Scholarship allows for us to hold onto God’s word for who we are in Him and not what the world wants us to be. Also, having Christian scholarship allows us to rely on the authority of the Bible. I was told, if we ever question anything in life, always turn to the Bible because the Bible will always hold the truth. Same circumstance, as it states in Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. NIV” The Bible is authority for the people of God and we abide by the Word of God in what we do. The value of Christian scholarship also means not knowing everything.
