I was born and raised in a Christian home, where everything was centered on Jesus and church. I was at church at least three days out of the week; Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, with Sundays being the main day of service. I haven’t known or experienced anything different.
As a child I never knew being a Christian needed to be specified with a name. I always thought all Christians are the same, they all do the same thing and believe the same things. As I grew up and started to learn and socialize with others, I learned that Christianity has denominations. That means there are subgroups within the religion that operate under the common name, tradition, and identity.
After coming to this understanding I had to figure out what denomination I identified with. I am Pentecostal. We believe in the trinity; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Our word of …show more content…

After eating we gathered in the living room again to do a daily devotional, which consisted of the reading of bible scriptures and more praying and singing. We got to church at 10:30am and were ushered to our seats. The service started at 11am and we started the service by reciting Exodus 20:8 which says “Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy”. The service was not much different from the services that happen at my church; the usual prayer, singing and sermon.
When the service was over we went home to a great family meal. Her mom asked me what my favorite food is and I replied “shrimp” without hesitation. She said they don’t eat shrimp in their house and I eagerly asked why. She explained that they follow the commandments given in the old testament in the bible that they can’t eat seafood without scales or fins. After family lunch we played games as a family and talked about the week that passed. When the sun set, that marked the end of Sabbath. We came together once more to pray and sing to mark the end of
