Chobain Greek Yogurt started up in 2007 created by Hamdi Ulukay. He started out working for Feta Chesse Company. In 2005, he saw that Kraft Foods closed their factory in New York. He was cleaning his office and notice the ad for the sale of the company and ignoring it. Well, after sleeping on the idea of it he brought the company with financing from the U.S. Small Business Administration loan. Then the birth of his company was born.
Ulukay had no experience in making yogurt, but he knew that he disliked the American brand. That it took him 18 months and the help of five other people to perfect his recipe. They were surprised that this little company would have such great success. So, to keep their sales from falling they offered their own Greek yogurt line. Companies such as Dannon, Yoplait, and PepsiCo. So instead of Chobain freaking out they decide to start producing new products. They produce Simply 100, Kids Pouches, and flip. They also chobani gives 10 percent of profits to Shepherd Gift Foundation.
Chobani has a team called the Choani’s Loyalty Team. There are many advantages of having . For example, when the customer calls in and leaves feedback the team personality writes handwritten letters to thank them for their time. They also respond to their costumers post onto their Facebook or if someone tags them in a post on Twitter the automatically reply. This is great for building personal relationships. The only disadvantage would that the team probably would not be able to get to everyone response.
As sales increased for this company the company thought it was time to expand. The company opened a store in SoHo, New York. This store allows consumers to come in and try the new flavors and or products. By doing this they can send back to the marketing team what is working and what is not working.
