“The doctor of the future will give no medication, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, diet and in the cause and prevention of disease” by Thomas A. Edison. Chiropractors use hands-on spinal manipulation and other alternative treatments on the spine which will enable the body to heal itself without surgery or medication. Chiropractic care began in 1895 when its founder, Daniel David Palmer, claimed any and all diseases could be healed by nothing more than just his hands. Dr. Palmer examined a janitor who was deaf for 17 years after the janitor felt his back was out of place, so Dr. Palmer gave an adjustment to what was felt to be a misplaced vertebra in the upper back. The janitor then observed that his hearing improved thanks to Dr. Palmer. Chiropractors use manipulation to restore mobility to joints restricted by tissue injury caused by sitting without proper back support. Chiropractic is primarily used as a pain relief alternative for muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissue, such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. About 22 million Americans visit chiropractors annually
The word “chiropractor” has two word origins, the Greek words cheir and praxis; meanwhile, cheir means “hand” and praxis means “practice.” Also, most of the work that chiropractors do is done by hand (Pike para. 5). In 2002, going to a chiropractor was found to be the most commonly used program for therapy. Seventy-four percent, about 4 million, of people that had back pain went to a chiropractor to get treated. Among that 74 percent of people, 66 percent of them stated that they got “a great benefit” (Pike para. 9). Many chiropractors work full time but 1 out of 3 chiropractors work part time. Chiropractors work whenever their patients need them, even on w...

Jeff first talked about chiropractic work. He explained to us the process of schooling to become a doctor of chiropractic. You first have to get a 4 year undergraduate degree, this should probably be in some field of science, either for your major or your minor. You also want to do stuff during this time to set you apart from other people, such as learn a second language, or do a lot of volunteer work. After this, you apply to a chiropractic school. The practise of Chiropractics Originated from 1895 in America, when Daniel David Palmer- the founder of chiropractics, performed the first procedure on a deaf janitor. Chiropractics is a fundamental system based upon the ideology that abnormal bodily functions correlate with the maladjustment of the nervous system and a displacement of the vertebrae hence the treatment and prevention is intended towards the neuromuscular system. The chiropractic profession is based upon the treatment of the structures of the body, in particular those of the spinal column. Adherents of this practise are guided through the belief that the body is self healing and self regulating however interferences towards the spinal cord and nervous system- chiropractic subluxations, need to be located, analysed and fixated. The primary approach of chiropractics is to manipulate and in some sense adjust the spine and other bodily structures without the use of surgery or drugs although varying chiropractors may utilise radiology and diet/lifestyle functions to further harmonize the body .An example of this is the correlation between lifestyle factors such as smoking and the result of lower back pain. Similarly, this can be seen through the cause of lower back pain due to obesity .

My occupation has evolved into what we know today as chiropractic or osteopathy. When I first started practicing, we called it bonesetting. Bonesetting was the treatment of disease, manipulation of the joints and bones in the body, and the occasional amputation. Bonesetting did treat disease; however, we did not classify ourselves among the physicians of the time. We maintained our own guild or group that shared information amongst itself and learned from each other. We were also relatively religious in that generations ago, our bonesetting fathers and mothers began the skill by casting out demons with every crackle and pop of the joints.
Individuals who go through the process of becoming a chiropractor are dedicating their lives to improve others through their own hands. Giving a patient relief and satisfaction without harming their body with drugs that can have horrible side effects is a feeling that is unlike anything else. Facilitating an individual to heal and strengthening their life entirely is what chiropractors strive for and many accomplish that ambition. Additionally, studies and surveys have shown why students of chiropractic chose this profession. The top reasons were that they truly want to help people and heal them, the increase in financial status, and the ambition of having the title “Doctor.” (Wardwell 154). Chiropractors must complete many demanding courses
Most important you must earn the doctor of chiropractic degree from an accredited chiropractic college. Lastly, students must do a clinical internship of approximately 1,000 hours. I believe that all of this schooling and training will be worth it.

Ergonomics involves designing workplaces and work tools to be used easily, efficiently and effectively by people. The overall goal is to promote health and productivity in the workplace. Where ergonomic principles are not applied, chronic musculoskeletal disorders such as tendinitis of the arm and hand, eyestrain injury and back injuries may be common. Most people are concerned when they cannot use parts of the body like they know they should be able to use them. People are often unaware of ways to prevent injury, and ergonomics will introduce methods that will help reduce those injuries. Chiropractors recommend using ergonomics in a professional environment as well as at home. Following simple guidelines can help prevent injury to the arms and hands, eyes, and back.
Physiotherapy is a science-based profession and takes a ‘whole person’ approach to health and wellbeing, which includes the patient’s general lifestyle. In recent years, physiotherapists have been progressively interested in defining their professional identity. Physiotherapy helps restore movement and proper functioning to the body when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. Contrary to prevalent belief, physiotherapists are not restricted to the rehabilitation of back pain and sports injuries. As well as musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, physiotherapists can also manage,
