The chemical engineer is an invaluable link between scientific principles and manufacturing realities. It
involves the use of chemical, physical, and engineering principles.
The scientist in a laboratory does basic research to develop new compounds and processes. When the
scientist discovers a product that may be useful, the chemical engineer takes over. They adapt the
product for big scale manufacturing. They do this by designing a plant to produce the item on large
scale. Thus the engineer is the link between the laboratory and commercial production. The chemical
engineer’s earnings depend on several factors. Their educational background dictates much of what
the engineer will earn. Also, experience and the location of the employer will make a very big
difference. The starting salary for a chemical engineer with a Bachelor’s Degree can range from
$30,000 to over 35,000 per year. An engineer with a Master’s Degree can earn anywhere from
$35,000 to over $40,000. A chemical engineer with a doctorate can earn $45,000 to well over $60,000.

person must be flexible in order to adapt to each phase encountered. They must also be ambitious.

In order to get a job as a chemical engineer, a person should have at least a Bachelor’s Degree. The
degree should be in chemical engineering. The degree is acquired by four years of study. Subjects
studied include engineering, drawing, chemistry, mathematics, English and speech, computing,
economics, and social studies. The actual specialization in chemical engineering is usually in the third
year of study. There are many advantages that go along with this job. The career offers challenges in
both science and industry. Also, the work allows for other companies to expand and hire more people.
Thus, this creates new jobs. There are also disadvantages. First, there is a great responsibility placed
onto the engineer. Also, there is a great deal of pressure involved with this kind of work. The future
for the chemical engineer looks very promising. As new drugs and vaccines develop, the chemical
engineer will be needed. This a new and exciting field to work in. Many people are becoming more
and more interested in it. This increase in engineers called for and increase in jobs.
Someone interested in becoming a chemical engineer should concentrate on the sciences in high
school. They should be "good" at chemistry and physics.

I have always been inspired by the workings of chemistry and mathematics. My studies of these subjects have developed my understanding and have made me pursue my interest in these two topics. I want to take up chemistry as it involves a large amount of mathematics which I value and understand to be challenging, yet very enjoyable, as there is always an alternative route to obtain the answer. Additionally, I am drawn to the course because it is a mixture of all these exacting subjects, forming a degree that is very demanding and stimulating. Chemists are constantly thinking of new ways to produce viable drugs containing different isomers to improve the pharmaceutical sector using mathematical equations. Chemistry is about innovation, applying information to new areas and how to do things better than they were before, the degree appeals to and fascinates me.
Ever since I began studying science and mathematics at all levels of educations I have always had an interest in the production of useful materials. In the growing turmoil of today; a world full of global warming and diminishing resources, questions often arise in my mind such as, "can we make a more efficient, more durable and a renewable resource that will overshadow fossil fuels? and have less of an impact on our environment?" Up to now, I have not found a solution to these questions and answering these questions is a personal aspiration of mine which I aim to fulfil by achieving a degree in Chemical engineering and eventually I will contribute to the field in my own unique way. The debate surrounding sustainable energy fascinates me, having recently learned from personal research I have understood what an authoritative role chemists and chemical engineers play in the industry at the present time and how, by working as a team, they contribute to an improved future for the whole world. However, one of the main reasons that has single-mindedly driven me this far to want to study chemical engineering is a book I have read, “Beyond the Molecular Frontier: Challenges for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering” While reading this book, I had solidified my understandings of what chemical engineering is all about. Also, one of the main processes mentioned was polymerisation and is something I already study in A-level chemistry, it is something that not only interests me, but is a personal career aspiration of mine. Reading this book gave me a determination to be the person who helps improve the future of the industry and provide an answer to the questions I always ask myself by studying this degree.
Going back to school to earn a higher degree or applying for jobs and internships with different companies. With an undergraduate or graduate degree medical device companies, research associations in biotechnology, manufacturing materials, quality assurance departments, hospitals, or pharmacies will hire you. However, with a Ph. D you could quickly become senior engineers or research scientists and make a much more comfortable salary. Starting salaries can be anywhere from $40,000-$50,000; although, when you rise to a higher rank the salaries begin to range anywhere from $90,000-$120,000. The pay also relies on where you work and what position you are at.
I will be exposed to the chemical production and industrial chemical manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies and environmental sectors through which I can gain the profession and quality practical experience. Further, my program assists me to work in a team environment developing new products, using advanced testing methodologies to assure quality with chemical manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, food ingredient manufacturers, consumers product companies, and the emerging green product sector. I will be able to expertise in developing and conducting sampling and data analysis, compiling records and interpreting experimental or analytical results and in conducting the chemical experiments
Experiments are time demanding and require intense focus to prevent mistakes, requiring a majority of a person in the microbiology field’s time. A main aspect that I would be interested in focusing on is cancer. On a daily basis, I would study the way a specific type of cancer acts, comes to be, function, and possible ways in which the slow or stop the cancer from progressing. After many hours of studying and a solution in mind, I would begin a long series of experiments to test my hypothesis. Whether my hypothesis was proven correct or incorrect, I would either begin my study again to find a different solution, or I would do further testing to create indisputable evidence that my hypothesis was correct and not any other intervening factors.
Chemistry, biology, and environmental science are a few of the many opportunities that are available. I built my walls with an Associates of Science in Chemical Technology. I was hired by Eastman Chemical Company in 1991 and worked in the chemical pilot plant organization. I was able to us my engineering and computer science experience from the military and my education in chemistry. An education is best valued when it is used to serve one’s community at a larger aspect- this belief has been imprinted in my judgment from the commencement of my undergraduate study. This persuasion and a natural aptitude for energy science and mathematics induced me that petroleum engineering is the most fitting career for me and developed a sense in my mind that higher study is mandatory to be competent in this field. I desire a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering followed by a PhD not only because it is the most fulfilling way to exercise my natural talent as a scholar but also it will give me the opportunity to serve my country as she has paucity of researchers in this discipline.
