I want you all to imagine not eating, drinking clean water, living in a safe home, and not having an education. These sound like basic things to us. In my country however, the citizens don't have these things. There are even more problems that I am going to talk about today. Here is why my country is worse than yours.

First of all, Chechnya's literacy rate is only 57%! That is extremely low! A low literacy rate could mean that the education is not great and that Chechnya is extremely poor. Out of Chechnya's population of 1 million people, only 570,000 people know how to read and write. That could explain why the unemployment rate is 80%. In 1994 to 1996, Chechnya had its first of two wars with Russia. The war was over the fact that many basic human rights were taken away. Chechnya wanted to be free from Russia. The attacks were brutal and more than a tenth of the population was killed. Chechnya lost the war and were still a part of the Russian Republic. There was some unstable peace from 1996 to 1999, but in 2000, the second war began. It was over the exact same thing. Once again. Everyday, unlawful arrests, rape, murders, robberies, kidnappings, and torture are reported. There are 3 groups to also be concerned about. The guerrillas often attack civilians and kill them. The Chechen Mafia is a very dangerous gang. They have a mile long list of illegal activities such as assassination, car bombing, and the sale of plutonium. There are at least 30 more, but I only have time to list a few. Plutonium is sold to Islamic State Terrorists, which is the third group to be concerned about. Plutonium is used to make nuclear weapons. Due to the sale of it, there have been many terrorist attacks from the Islamic State Terrorists. You do not want to live in a country with all this
