With the desire to win becoming increasingly stronger, cheating has therefore become a common occurrence in sports. There are several creative ways people are cheating in professional sport. These include the use of performance enhancing drugs, bias judging, and foul play in sports. Cheating is an action that is an international violation of the rules in which the violator tries to avoid detection, usually through deception and to gain a unilateral advantage. Cheating in sport violates the promise athletes make to follow the rules of the game, to abide by the spirit of the sport which assures, the opponent, the fans and other parties that the rules will be followed..

Foul play is defined as unlawful, unfair or dishonest behaviour in sport. Theres been many instances involving foul play. One well known, is the case of the famous figure skater, Nancy Kerrigan . and I was alleged that the husband of Tanya Harding, a direct competitor for gold in the 1994 Winter Olympics, bashed in the knees of Nancy Kerrigan. The intention was to sever her Achilles heels, so that she would not be able to compete in the competition. This would give Tanya Harding the advantage. Another famous athlete Tom Brady was thrown into the spotlight after he intentionally deflated the footballs their team used in the 2015 AFC Championships. He then destroyed his cellphone shortly after investigators requested access to its contents. "Deflating the ball does give a team an advantage," stated scientist Ainissa Ramirez, the author of Newton's Football. This cost Brady,s team the New England Patriots, a million dollars, two forfeited draft picks and their star quarterback for the first four games of the season.
