Sarny is a great, peaceful minded person, and she sure did a lot of things that other people can’t do. For example, in the novel Sarny stated, “ i worked at the chain...was a need” (p.22). Sarny had a peaceful minded thinking, she chose not to fight back to the world’s evil, no matter what extreme or harsh thing they have done to her. Like the Wallers, he treated Sarny horribly, even though Sarny recollected these painful memories she had at the Wallers, she chose not to say anything. It was already happened, no matter what you do, things can’t change. Stay silence sometimes would be a good choice, not every evil, hardships will be solved even if you fought back. Furthermore, Sarny also has the quality of Sympathy, as she stated in the novel, “ Not for...was winning” (p.18). …show more content…

Great Beings can feel others pain, they know how other people feels, they understands the pain, suffers and many hardships the world have been through. Sarny can feel their pain because she suffered from the deaths of two people she loved. Additionally, the author also stated, “ Why Sarny---what makes you cry?”(p.92). Great beings cry for others pain, they still care for other people even when they are very satisfied with their lives. In this part of the novel, Sarny followed Miss Laura and she gave Sarny a real job. Sarny lives with Miss Laura, she knows how upper classes lived their lives, and how she used to live. Sarny cried for other people, she felt bad that some people had to live in horrible conditions, and that now she’s enjoying a good life. Moreover, Sarny has the trait of perseverance, in the novel it stated, “ Waller he was, wouldn't tell me anything…”(p.25).
