The movie chosen to write a character analysis on was The Blind Side. Michael Oher, the protagonist, was a teenage boy who was taken away from his mother at a young age. After being transferred from one foster family to another, he would still run away and go search for his mother. At last, the Tuohy family legally adopts him and provides him with food, shelter, education and all of his needs. In terms of Oher’s physical wellness, he would rank towards a high level of wellness and vital life for physical activity. However, for his healthy diet, he would rank toward a low level of wellness. Oher’s physical activity, throughout the movie, Oher played sports very well and did it very often. Because of his passion and love for sports, Oher exercised all of his muscles on a regular basis and therefore demonstrated a high level of physical wellness. In terms of the movie does not clearly portray Oher’s daily diet; however, there is one scene that Oher collected people’s old popcorn after a volleyball game. Additionally, at the Tuohy’s Thanksgiving dinner, Oher snuck a parcel of bread into his pocket, indicating that he needs to save food for later, as it may not be available. When the department of admissions assessed whether or not Oher will be able to succeed as a student of Wingate Christian School, they find out that his GPA is .6, and he has an IQ of 80. Oher ranked where he did because he did not have the opportunity to go to school or to stimulate his education in any other way. He often wanted to just leave and gave up easily. Ways that Oher could develop his comprehension and reading skills would be to go to school, visit a library, or get a tutor.
