Gatsby is awakened by the distant laughter and and music carried by the soft wind. He opens his eyes to the night sky spotted with stars, he feels the cold, hard wood beneath him. Gatsby lifted his body up to see that he was sitting in a wooden coffin. He looks around the yard to see no one there, but in the distance Gatsby sees the light from his house illuminating the yard. He steps out of the coffin and his feet hit the cold, hard marble floor, in confusion, he looks up to see he is standing in the front foyaye of the mansion. There is a soft green glow to the whole house, he notices all of the light bulbs in the house have been swapped for green ones. Gatsby gazes down the hallway and sees blurry figures. He frantically tugs on one man’s pant leg, causing the man to tip over. As the man hits the floor, he explodes into hundreds of puzzle pieces that scatter across the floor. He then hears Daisy’s voice in the distance and, unthinkingly, he immediately stands up and moves towards her voice. He tries to resist but soon enough he finds Daisy in his bedroom, silently floating above his bed, laying on a white cloud. As he walks closer to her, he passes a mirror and is shocked. His clothing is suspended in the air, with emptiness where is face and body should be. Daisy walks over to Gatsby, her white dress turning pink, and he looks closely at her to see small cracks on her face as if she is an old porcelain doll. Her eyes are glossy and fixed in place, Gatsby tries to speak and move his arms to hold her but can’t. Daisy turns, floating away on a cloud, leaving a trail of unpleasant, yellow smoke in her wake. Gatsby chases her as she drifts away through the still crowds of people. As Daisy gets further, the green light bulbs burst, and Gatsby’s eyes dart from light to light.
