Overpopulation is caused by a number of factors. Reduced mortality rate, better medical facilities, depletion of precious resources are a few of the causes which results in increasing the population. In the future, overpopulation will become a huge catastrophe. Because of overpopulation, countries will run out of their resources, and they wanted to obtain more and more resources to destroy the environment. “Growing advances in technology with each coming year has affected humanity in many ways. One of these has been the ability to save lives and create better medical treatment for all. A direct result of this has been increased lifespan and the growth of the population. In the past fifty or so years, the growth of population has boomed and has turned into overpopulation” (Cook, 1999). New technology can make people live longer than in the past because we can use technology to produce many foods, and we can make advanced machine for medical purpose to better health. For example, in China, most people were starvation because of natural disaster in 1953. A great number of locust ate their grain, and they didn’t have enough water to plant crops, but the Chinese imported new technology to promote output of corps. Also, China had good health since they imported the technology from some developed countries. In many countries, they are aware of overpopulation that as big global problem. For example, China has the highest population in the world, encompassing 1.4 billion, and people face serious social and economic problems associated with overpopulation in the years to come. They use polices to control population. “The Chinese government has used several methods to control population growth. The major method is one child per family policy. This policy stated that citizens must obtain a birth certificate before the birth of their children. The citizens would be offered special benefits if they agreed to have only one child” ( Hilali, 1997). The governments also use polices to build some protection zones. They can protect precious forests to make an beautiful natural environment. Making a police is an utility way to control overpopulation. Also, some developed countries make some strict polices about immigration to control population
