With that being built it caused a lot of pollution to be noticed in the late 1800’s. According to french physicist Joseph Fourier in the article BBC news that’s when he noticed the “green house effect”(BBC news). Not many people seemed to care at the time since more jobs were coming available and more money was in sight. Even with different types of warnings about what could happen to our planet there wasn 't much one could do to stop industrialization. Industrialization wasn 't only the problem during this time, human population kept growing and growing with no end in sight. As the population grew so did invention, ways to make life easier during daily life. Inventions such as steam engines and auto mobiles, which meant more coal and fossil fuels were being used. According to NASA” The industrial activities that our modern civilization depends upon have raised atmospheric carbon dioxide levels from 280 parts per million to 400 parts per million in the last 150 years” (NASA). Which will have consequences on the environment which with change temperature and seasons. Climate change has gotten so bad that the ice glaciers are melting at a alarming rate. Pollan even agrees that becoming friendlier to the environment may seem like a bit too much. Scientists may even show that it could even be too late to save the planet from the climate change. One NASA climate scientist, James Hansen, began warning about global warming 20 years ago. According to Hansen, the amount of carbon we are emitting is going to change the world as we know it. Scientists have seen the climate change affect the world on a grander scale as of today and we are seeing ice caps melt at both poles. The sunlight that used to reflect off of the ice back into space is now being absorbed into the soil and creating a warmer environment. The gradual warming of temperatures doesn’t just effect us though, there are numerous other plants and animals that will be threatened, or even pushed to extinction due to these changes. I believe it is our duty to fix the problem that we created, but it is more easily said than done. Megablazes, droughts, or even species extinction due to human stubbornness is unacceptable. Although climate change is a gradual issue, the factors that contribute to it need to be managed right away. Again, Global warming is caused by UV radiation reflecting between the ozone layer and the earth. The ozone consists of greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide and methane, which humans are the main source of. Over the course of recent history, much concern has been raised over the industrial revolution and the potential climate changes that it might be causing. It has been stated by global warming theorist that C02 emissions caused by human technologies are causing the world to warm, which will cause negative climate changes. The Earth may be experiencing a global warming trend and climate change; however, the process of climate change is outside of human control because human activity can barely account for any of the C02 level increases. Attempts to reduce human C02 emissions is needlessly expensive, and will have a negligible role in preventing or slowing any climatic changes such as global warming or an impending ice age. People must be prepared to adapt to the climatic changes that occur, because it is unlikely that human intervention will postpone them or limit the impact of their arrival.
In addition to lowering greenhouse gas levels and using cleaner energy sources, there are things we can do as people to stop climate change. We could reduce our use of electricity at our homes by turning off the lights when we leave the room, turning down/up the heating/ac when it is unnecessary, and using less water. Also, we could install solar panels in our homes and donate money to environmental protection agencies. One of the most compelling and difficult environmental problems society is facing today is climate change. People do not realize how much the environment has changed for the worse in the last ten years, until they are told that the last two decades of the 20th century have been the hottest in the last 400 years, according to climate studies (Conserve Energy Future). Today the carbon dioxide levels have reached 396.81 parts per million (ppm). “Carbon dioxide (CO2) has also increased over the last 100 years-- from about 300 ppm to 370 ppm. Interestingly, the majority of these additions have occurred in the last 50 years, when temperature increases have been slowest” (geocraft). There are no known solutions yet to reverse these effects in the environment, however there are many things people can do to prevent it from increasing. By implementing a carbon tax the government can tax corporations on how much carbon they emit into the atmosphere. With the extra money from the tax, scientist can invest in alternative ways to reduce how much carbon is emitted. Reducing climate change is going to take years and so nothing is going to get fixed anytime soon, but meanwhile we can use that extra money to begin cleaning up the atmosphere. There are many ways to explain climate change, some say its due to the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere, others say it is the burning of the fossils fuels, some even say it’s the greenhouse gases. Climate change was bound to happen, but we have made it way worse and we have sped up the process by using up fossil fuels, which is creating all kinds of pollutions. Industrialization has caused natural resources to run out and has damaged the freshwater biome. One of the most recognized and influential leaders of our country also agreed that Climate Change needs to be fixed, Theodore Roosevelt said, “The time has come for a change.” Climate Change has affected everyone, you might not have realized it, but even you have been affected! Global warming has been generally concerned with the whole world. Over the past 100 years, the average temperatures of the Earth experienced 2 fluctuations which are cold-warm and cold-warm. However, the Fifth Assessment Report of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) points out that the average global temperature has increased 0.4 - 0.8°C in the overall trend. Even worse, scientists from the IPCC (2014) forecast the temperature will be higher and higher in the future.

The Earth has experienced considerable climate change for the last several centuries. There have been many explanations toward the main causes of the increased warming of the planet, but according to IPCC climate report: human impact is unequivocal. The recent weather events that Canada has experienced in Toronto and Calgary have proven Canada is at great risk from the climate change.
There needs to be a reduction if not extinction with the increasing amounts of carbon dioxide, methane, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), per-fluorocarbons (PFCs) and nitrous oxide into the atmosphere because it is directly affecting global warming. The combustion of fossil fuels and greenhouse emissions mainly contribute to the increase of these gases. The longer we go without solving this global problem the more conflicts we will have in the future. Although global warming does make the earth warmer there is more to worry about than heating to death. Major concerns revolve around effects on agriculture, water resources, ocean level and coastal regions, and disease.
