There were many instances during this assignment in which my train of though was challenge and there were questions which I was seeking an answer for. Personally, I have never been a religious person. This have brought me to many conflicts with people who believe in different religions. However, not being part of a certain religion has given me the gift to tolerate and understand what other people come from, and to not just based my opinion on any personal religious believes. For this visit I decide to attend a Christian church called The Vineyard they are a huge church located in the Kendall area. Christianity encompasses all churches and sects; Catholics believe that the Roman Catholic church is the supreme authority on Earth and that God speaks through the pope. How did this affect the surrounding of the area in which the church was located? Well what was intriguing to me was the fact that they were many churches surrounding this church. Why was that? the reason I believe was the fact that the other church probably believe that they could get some member out of this church which has happened in the past of different churches I seen.
After researching the surrounding areas of the church as I made my way to the service. During my way to the service I notice they were many people volunteering themselves to help new people get a more inclusive a socially involve with the group this was for the benefit of the new faces to not feel like an outcast in the church. Therefore, something else that was noted was the fact that they always refer to the church as “The House of God”. That they would try to watch what they say as to not offend him and treat him differently. This is in line with what I thought that the people who attend church view their leader differently than themselves. But that was not what surprise me what surprise me was that the pastor told them that they should treat him equally as he is the same as them just speaking the word of God as he sees it through his eyes.
