As we look back on the past we need to recognise the small things, the small things with big matter. 100 years ago Lourdes Hill College, a Good Samaritan Education school, started in the year 1916. In the suburb of Hawthorn on the Bulimba Reach of the Brisbane River, at the request of Archbishop Duhig, the Good Samaritan Sisters founded the college (one of three schools that was founded at the time by the sisters). One of the most memorable features of Lourdes Hill College, The Grotto, was the first feature built in the college and will be continued to be looked up to and admired by the students at Lourdes Hill College.
