170 worldwide awards, 7 grammy awards, and in 2007 became only the third country artist in history to win the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, Carrie Underwood goes beyond fame and fortune to help people in need (“Ray michael”). Carrie underwood officially started her singing career in 2004 where she decided to try out for american idol, not only did she get pass the auditions, she went on to be the season 4 American Idol winner (“Carrie Underwood biography”). Carrie underwood is now one of the best known country singers, and not only has fame and fortune, but loves to give back to her community because of all of the things they have done for her. Carrie is thankful for all the support her hometown have given her, so she wanted to find a way to give back to them. “Underwood created C.A.T.S. Foundation in 2009 as a means to give back to her hometown of Checotah. Since its inception, C.A.T.S. Foundation has contributed to the local community in many ways, including donating $117,000 in instruments to the school’s music program, rebuilding the local animal shelter, and making contributions to other local groups in need.” (“the cats foundation”). Thanks to the C.A.T.S foundation students are now getting a better education, and have all of the wright materials, they also now have a good music school and it now has more than 3,800 members.the goal of this foundation was to helped aid for the local school system for updated computer labs, musical instruments and equipment for music education, they also added new playground equipment, and built a new animal shelter, Carrie went above and beyond to make sure her hometown was a great place to grow up
