A role as a Product Manager at my current employment is the job that I want to obtain when I graduate from Winthrop. I have worked for the same manufacturer of medical equipment for ten years, and I think that I would be a great candidate for this position. I possess both the skills and knowledge needed for this job. The production side of the business is where I initially started working and after a few years I progressed to the engineering department. Most of my career has been directly involved in engineering some type of equipment, so it seems that I always been involved in the manufacturing side of products or directly in the research and development of products. So not only do I understand the job, but I feel that I am qualified to pursue a career as a product manager. The product manager job that I selected just so happens to be within the same company that I currently work at. This gives me an advantage over other candidates, because know and understand the product line very well. I received an award in 2015 for my successful contribution of a launch of a new product line. I project managed different aspects of this new launch that directly interfaces with the customer, both with options and pricing. This job would probably require an MBA and given the chance I will pursue a path towards this advanced degree. I feel by this time in my career, that I will have the necessary skills to be an effective global product manager. This job is the next logical step, because I will then have the actual experience and knowledge as a product manager. The advanced degree, experience, and connection that I will make as a product manager, will be the most important keys to my success as a global product
