I am striving to become a successful baker who owns her own bakery. From watching my mother cook and watching Food Network, to practicing my baking at home, baking in particular has shaped the person I am today.

When Cake Boss, a show that follows Buddy Valastro and the operations of his family owned bakery, first premiered, I was fascinated by Buddy’s ability to bring people's ideas of cakes to life. I realized how I could use baking to express my creativity and share it with my community through my own innovations.

Once the aroma of luscious cupcakes spreads, it captivates the senses, putting hungry victims under a trance. At that moment, everyone knows I'm in the kitchen creating delicacies, such as cheesecake or other desserts. 3 days a week, for about 10 ½ hours each week, I spent my time voluntarily making cupcakes and frosting from scratch, decorating cupcakes, and packaging them. In addition, I spent time announcing when I was going to be selling cupcakes, then selling them after school, and buying materials and ingredients. The majority of the cupcakes I sold were vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting, coming in first for popularity, and chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting, coming in second place. I sometimes added other cupcake flavors, the usual vanilla cupcakes I made, but with a cinnamon, sugar garnish, and red velvet cupcakes. My sales in just the first week was $48, selling 48 cupcakes. In total, I made almost $100. I was able to gain and keep customers, as well as receive positive feedback and some constructive criticism.
