The brain is one of the most interesting yet the most complex part of the body. Since no one can really see what’s inside, it’s a big question for most people on how it works. The brain is made up of more than 100 billion neurons that communicate through the synapse. It controls all the function of the body, receive and interprets information and process thoughts and emotions (Hines, 2016). It is one of the most important part of the body. How we remember, how we think, do and etc. is made possible because of the brain. The brain is divided into three main parts: cerebellum, cerebrum and brainstem. Each part has its own specialised area on the body in order to function well (Hines, 2016).

It is definitely true that experiences can alter the way we behave in different scenarios. Dede, Zalonis, Gatzonis & Sakas (2017) stated that the brain-behaviour relationship was recognised as a result of accumulating scientific evidences and was only recently became an independent scientific field. Knowledge about the brain, its part and function will give us an idea of what part of the brain was damaged if we get into an accident. A popular example of this is the accident that happened to Phineas Gage. Phineas work at the rail station and while he was working, there was an explosion that happened and a steel rod hit the front part of his brain and penetrated through his skull. He did survived the accident and recovered physically however, after twenty years of observing him, his doctor, John Harlow stated that Phineas became very irritable, impatient, inconsistent and that his intelligence decreased (Ratiu, Talos, Haker et.al. 2004).
