Boxing is one of the most popular combat sports in the world. Every match consists of a predetermined number of rounds, usually between 9 and 12, each lasting for no more than 3 minutes. Before the beginning of the match, each fighter is assigned to a corner of the ring, where they can receive light medical care, water, and further instructions between each round. The fight can end before the end of the final round if one of the boxers is deemed incapable to continue by the referee. Moreover, repetitive rule breaking or white-towel resignation can also abruptly end a match. If the fight reaches the end of the final round, the winner is selected by analyzing score cards that were kept by each judge throughout the rounds.
