Although the definition of “greatness” varies from each person, I personally think that greatness is someone or something that makes a positive change for good. A great person may break the boundaries and leave change to inspire the future generation. A great invention may redefine the standards of that invention, and make everyday lives more convenient, like the recent evolution of cellular phones. Something full of greatness does not necessarily need to be famous. Something a foot away from you could be full of greatness. Even though you may not realize it, you could be a person full of greatness in someone’s opinion, whether that would be today or in 10 years. An undoubtedly example of a great person is Bobby Orr.
Robert Gordon “Bobby” Orr, OC was born on March 20, 1948, to Arva and Doug Orr. He grew up in Parry Sound, Ontario, which is in Canada, during the 1950’s. Bobby Orr had 5 siblings, including brothers and sisters. Attending Victory Elementary, he moved out of Parry Sound at age 14. Because he likes to keep his childhood life private, not too much about his childhood is available to the public.
Best known for his professional hockey career, Bobby Orr never went to college. He married Margaret Louise “Peggy” Wood in September 1973. He had two kids, Brent and Darren. As a child, he won a lot of tournaments. He interested scouts, people who look at athletes and see if they are good enough to play for the scout’s team in the future, at age 12. Orr started junior hockey at age 14, for the Oshawa Generals and eventually earned the privilege to be captain. At age 18, Orr signed a contract with the Boston Bruins in 1966. Bobby Orr was the first defenseman to score 100 points. Bobby Orr will be most remembered for his game win...

...ng him because of his contributions to ice hockey, and because he isn’t arrogant. A lot of hockey players will boast about how amazing they are at their sport, but Bobby doesn’t boast about his playing. In fact, when the idea of writing an autobiography was suggest by his friend, he said, “Who would care about me?” I think he would’ve made a good friend since he is good sports and could help me improve my sports skills. In addition, it would be interesting to have a famous person as a friend. I also would like to know how it is like to play professional sports, and the fame in Boston. It would be really cool to join Bobby Orr golfing and meet famous people like Arnold Palmer and George H. W. Bush. I think a biography should’ve been written about him because he has received the Order of Canada and a lot of other awards, and helped the Bruins win the Stanley Cup twice.
