Blindside Inspiration The Blind Side, a movie about a boy, Michael Oher, who becomes a football sensation, however with his past, it was not easy to become what he is today. Before Michael was a football success story, he was homeless with only one pair of shorts and a couple of shirts. Michael had grabbed a spot at a private Christian school but didn’t have quality grades or a place to stay. When Leigh Anne Tuohy, SJ and Sean Tuohy were driving home, they came across Michael walking to the school gym because it was warm and the only place he could go. They took him off the street that night and let him stay with them. They soon adopted him. The first one that appeared in the movie was when he went to go get his clothes from his mom’s place. Leigh Anne was going to go with him, but Michael didn’t want her getting out of the car. He was trying to protect her from the people he lived near because it was not the safest side of town. For instance, one way to prove his protective instincts was through a test they took. He scored in the 98th percentile for protective instincts. As mentioned earlier, Michael is strong, but he did not want to hurt any football players, this changed by the end of the movie, he learned that he was protecting his football family and in order to do that he had to tackle the other team. Consequently, Michael has been protective ever since he was a little boy. Leigh Anne had gone to talk to Michael’s birth mother and she told her that whenever he would get taken away from her, he would run away from the place they took him just to go find her and live with her again. Another way Michael showed his protective instinct was when he got into a car crash and his little brother, SJ, who was in the front seat. Michael had blocked SJ from the air bag so that it wouldn’t hit him or even possibly kill him. The last way that Michael demonstrates his protective instinct is when one of the guys around his old house insults his family, he started a fight and told the guy to stop talking about them. …show more content…

A personality trait that lets you adjust to new conditions is the definition of adaptability. With me always had a busy schedule, things can often change at the last minute. Whether it’s in the plans that I had or in a soccer game or even at home, I’ve always adapted well to it without making a big deal about it. With a busy schedule and usually being on the road on the weekend, I adapted to doing homework in the car when necessary, staying up considerably late to take time with my animals and lastly is having a longer day at school than most other people. Therefore, this is how I see adaptability in my life
