Bipolar disorder is a brain disorder associated with episodes of mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs. This can cause unusual changes in mood, energy, and activity levels which diminishes the ability to carry out daily tasks. There are four main types of bipolar disorder: bipolar one disorder, bipolar two disorder, cyclothymic disorder, and other bipolar disorders that do not match the other three.
