Daniel Boone was born on November, 2nd, 1734 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He was the sixth of eleven kids in the family. His dad Squire was a blacksmith, and a weaver. His mom was a houseworker and worked in their farm. He received his first gun at the age of 12. He loved hunting and working in the farm. When he was just 15 years old he and his family moved to North Carolina.

Later in his life Daniel Boone served in the British army as a wagon driver and a blacksmith during the French and Indian war. He was in the war for about nine years. He came back to North Carolina in 1756. He met a girl named Rebecca Bryan. Later that year he ended up marrying her. They had ten children altogether. But Rebecca didn’t want to move there so they moved westward instead. They moved to North Carolina instead. Four years later, Daniel Boone was told to travel west with five of his friends. The next two years they went on many adventures together. But they were soon captured by Shawnee Indians. He escaped but the rest of his friends died from the Indians. Daniel had to live in the wilderness for months. In June he was able to see Kentucky for the first time ever. It wasn’t a state at the time so it wasn’t considered Kentucky yet.
