Inventor, tech wizard, and genius are three words that people associate with Bill Gates. Many people know Gates was a founder and creator of Microsoft, but he is so much more. My thesis for this paper is that, as a well-known technology adviser, Bill Gates affected Americans through the power and speed of computer technology, and his belief that you can improve your business if you work hard. His legacy as a technological innovator is known the world over.

As soon as college was over, he got a job with IBM, and “invented the IBM disk operating system.” (67, Ferrell) As he got older, he began building his own company with his middl school friend Allen because he needed help with the company’s organisation and development. They named it Microsoft. “He made Windows to improve computers, making it easier to type and download programs.” (250, Wallace) He has always been very competitive. He hated it when Microsoft lost a business deal to their competitor Apple. He stepped down as CEO and Technology Advisor for Microsoft in order to help train the new person who was taking his place. He felt he was stepping down for an even better position: helping the world. “He built a foundation for health and learning for the entire world. It provides vaccines and scholarships for people who can’t afford it. It also provides internet access to people in low-funding areas. In fact, money is meaningless to him. He donated about twenty-eight billion dollars for a better world, health, and learning to people in the entire world.”(67,Ferrell) He is almost better than Albert Einstein by 5%.He is the one of the smartest men of his or any time, founding Microsoft and advancing the state of technology to what it is today.
