During his heroic quest, there were similarities and differences between the three battles that Beowulf had with the monsters, During the three battles, Beowulf demonstrated his braveness in fighting the monsters. However, despite Beowulf braveness in the battles, the strategies that he used in each one was different. During the three battles, Beowulf demonstrated his braveness in fighting the monsters. In the first battle, Beowulf took off his helmet, iron breast-mail and sword and said for himself “When it comes to fighting, I count myself as dangerous any day as Grendel” (Beowulf 678-679) So Beowulf took by surprise Grendel, and he fought alone “… unarmed he shall face me. And may de Divine Lord in His wisdom grant the glory of victory”
