Its continuing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.” The beauty and mystery of space has been a phenomenon that has entranced the wills and minds of men for generations. The stars provided sailors with the guidance necessary to travel back home. Similarly, this cold, strange frontier not only peaks the interest of the human race, but may possibly hold the keys to saving it. Humanity is at its finest when we are struggling against the grain, attempting to forge something new. The exploration of the universe is our next big adversity. However, it must be beneficial to us. Space exploration is incredibly beneficial to both the private and government sectors in multiple ways, there is the direct benefits, the new jobs created, and the advancement of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields to name a few. The stimulus of an economy has always been the driving factor of any large scale decision made by modern society, and the direct benefits that space exploration has previously created and the probabilities of new benefits arising is significantly substantial. Many people would not be alive today without the products of the space race.
