“I have a lot to be thankful for. I am healthy, happy, and I am loved” -Reba McEntire. When I think about the word thankful, I immediately think of how many blessings I have in my life. We all have so many blessings that we don’t even consider. The actual definition of thankful is “pleased and relieved,” or “expressing gratitude and relief,” but I think it is much much more than that. We all have the privilege to go to a Catholic School that supports and loves each and every one of us. Think of this school as a family. We all love, care, support, and appreciate each other. We are thankful for each other. A few things I am thankful for are my grandparents, my faith, and my friends and family.

I love growing up at a Catholic School learning about God and my faith. It really inspires me of how awesome our life would be if we all acted like Jesus did. One thing that I absolutely love about my faith is someone is always with me- God, Jesus, my guardian angel, and all of the saints. I am never alone and I always have someone to turn to. They are all always there for me whenever I need it. Whether I am a my house or somewhere else in the world, I can always turn to them. If there is ever a problem or I need support, God will always help me get through it. No matter how big or how small the problem is, He will help me to the best of his ability. My faith makes me a much better person. I am always told to act like Jesus did or always think WWJD. It may seem hard at times, but in the long run, it’s very easy. We just have to act like Jesus. If we all do that easy step, our world would be like a utopia or perfect world where everyone would be nice and kind to each other. I am very thankful for my faith because without it, I wouldn’t be who I am …show more content…
I know I would do anything for them and hopefully they would do the same thing for me. They support me in everything I do even if whatever I’m doing I’m not very good at. They encourage my to go out and step out of my comfort zone and try something new. No matter what it is, they will support me every step of the way. For example, volleyball. A few of my friends and family encouraged me to try out for club volleyball and I’m so glad I did. I love it so much. Another thing they do that makes me so thankful for them is they laugh so hard with me, (and sometimes at me!) When one of us makes a joke we will laugh so hard it hurts. A few months later, something will remind us of the joke and it will just as funny as before. Laughing is one of my favorite things to do and I love that I get to laugh with them. Finally, I absolutely love having fun with each one of them. We’ll go to theme parks, shopping, go on a hike, photoshoots, go see a movie, go on trips like L.A, and so much more. Each day with one of them is one of the best days of my life. They are all such amazing people and I don’t know what I would do without
I can learn more about him through the scripture, to feel his power and presence and to witness his miracles. These learning styles not only help me in my spiritual life, but also in my scholastic education.
Gratitude is one of the positive emotions shown from research and clinical trials to enhance the general well being of human beings. Gratitude is defined by Emmons (2004) as “a sense of thankfulness and joy in response to receiving a gift, whether the gift be a tangible benefit from a specific other or a moment of peaceful bliss evoked by natural beauty. Emmons and McCullough also see gratitude as an attitude, a habit, a personality trait and a way of handling difficult situations response (Emmons & Stern, 2013).
When I recognize the state of gratitude in which my heart is enveloped, I immediately embrace the Grace of God! I would never know true gratitude if it were not for God’s grace.
The first and most important thing I am thankful for, is my family. Whenever I need advice from an experienced person in life, I can always look to my grandpas or grandmas. I’m also thankful for they love that my parents give to me, even now. Whenever my parents need ideas for a party, or
My family taught me about Jesus at a young age, so I always knew I wanted to have a close relationship with him. Knowing that God is going to have my back no matter what was the best feeling to me. He will never leave a person or turn his back on them. The fact that the Bible guides people is one of the amazing things to me because one scripture can change a person whole life. My discourse community teaches a person about faith, love, and everything a person will ever need in life. Jesus encourages people, and supports people when they fail. Being a Christian motivates me and gives me a meaning of life. Being saved is easy, but the hard part is following his guidelines. He knows people are going to make a lot of mistakes in life, but the fact that he doesn’t judge them is amazing. Accepting Christ means a person has escaped that judgment and therefore they will have external life. Being a part of this discourse community has brought me to a new place in life, and for that I am
Their faith in me allows me to push forward, and drive me to stay on track , so I can reach my goals. In addition, without my passion to want to help others none of my goals I want to achieve would be possible.
Who is someone you are thankful for having in your life and why are you thankful for them? Someone I’m thankful for is my boyfriend, Ozzy, because he is funny, caring, and kind. The first reason I’m thankful for Ozzy is because he is very funny. My second reason is that he is very caring. My final reason is that Ozzy is very kind. These are three reasons that I’m very thankful for Ozzy.
My faith is a key component to who I am. I started my faith journey at Christ Presbyterian Church (CPC), and it has been a place that I can continually grow in my religious beliefs. Over the past two years, I have been able to expand my faith by taking on a leadership role as a youth counselor. I was given the opportunity to get to know and foster middle school girls as they begin to develop their own faith journey. Our small group meets weekly to discuss our daily life and how we can deepen our faith.
Never drown your self in sorrow for what you cannot control. You cannot run from hard times, the struggle will find you always, but how you embrace and push through struggle creates character. My struggle built my character. A character that can play in any scene in my life, because I'm mentally equipped with the attitude to keep on going. Now look at me! Graduating a semester early. From the bottom of the bottom, there was no other place to go, but all the way up and It starts with you God 1 life accomplishment down and plenty to go, so be ready! I know you riding with me. I am also thankful for my loving mother, who played the role of my father, and raised me to be the great man I am today. I'm thankful for my family & friends who has been there for me from the start, even though some did not make it, I know the love is
I also attended religious education when I was younger, which as well as going to church has helped me to better understand God and all of the wondrous miracles that he has completed, which has helped me to become closer with God and to understand that God has a plan for everyone and he listens to the prayers that you offer to him and he will answer them. My own spiritual journey is that after I was born my parents had me Baptized into the Catholic Church, then I made my Communion, and then I had my Confirmation all of these actions that I have done mean that I have taken action to become a full member of the Catholic Church. Becoming the full member of the Catholic Church is something that is very important to me because this marks the journey that I take my religion seriously and that I believe in
Through the faith I have in Christ Jesus I know that I can depend on him for any situation he puts me in because I know that everything he is putting me through is for a reason. Having a faith with God is such a strong connection because I am trusting someone that I can not see. My fellow Christians also do the same thing and spread God's word using our faith that we have in
I first learned to be a Christian from my parents. They took me to Sunday School and “preaching” on Sunday mornings when I was young. They made sure I was involved in the youth group and children’s and youth choirs while growing up. They taught me to say a blessing before every meal, and they laugh when I still occasionally break into our traditional “God is great, God is good . . .” version of grace I learned as a child. My parents were also the ones who taught me to ask for God’s help when I am in need of something or worried about an issue as well as to give God praise for all of the blessings in my life. My grandparents also helped further my Christian education. My Grandmother Hall made an impact on my understanding of church because she was very opinionated about what her preacher should and should not be preaching about from the pulpit. Her opinions caused me to think about what I believed in and why I believed that way. My family was very important to my upbringing in the church.
As believers, we should be thankful for a LOT of things: First of all, we should be thankful for God’s grace in our lives. Ephesians 2:8 tells us that grace is God giving us what we need instead of what we deserve. All that God does to for, for you and through you is by the grace of God. Secondly, we should be thankful for God’s plan for our lives. Your life is no accident! God created you with a purpose and a plan. If you’re breathing God has a plan for you! (Jeremiah 29:11). God has prepared a predestined path for you. Even though we often stray off our paths and make bad decisions God promises us in Romans 8:28
Giving back to the community and aiding in the growth of young athletes makes me feel grateful for the fact that I can be there to support them. If I was not around I would not have been able to see my brother graduate and become a marine. Neither could I have traveled to Hong Kong and experienced my mum’s family kindness and generosity. If my family had decided to stay in Wales and not immigrate to America, I would not be able to enjoy the California beaches that I have come to adore. Being alive is one of the greatest gifts and the choices that I have made I do not regret. Fore without them I would not have come to know my friends, extended family and athletes that are now in my life. I accept all the ups and downs that come with the life I live because without the bad it is hard to tell what is good with the world. Sometimes a scraped knee or a bad performance is just what a person needs to remind them just how great the rest of their life
