In the year 1925 on a cotton plantation in Itta Bena, Mississippi a boy was born. This boy would turn into one of the most influential blues players in history. He was been nominated for 30 grammy and he has won 15 of them. For a man who truly lived the blues lifestyle, he played 342 times in the year 1952. He wanted to bring the black community joy and his music spoke to so many people his audience grew world wide, covering every race that has heard his guitar playing and his voice. King had a rough childhood that gave him the material to make so many wonderful songs. This paper will guide you through the life and masterpieces of BB king. BB king was born on September 16, 1925 on a cotton plantation. Albert and Nora Ella King, who were the sharecroppers on the plantation attend church regularly with their son BB. You can translate this too that he felt like he made it. He was doing what he wanted to. He was successful and making money doing what he loved. He was content with his life and happy where he was, he did not want anymore or any less he liked where he was. BB kings top five songs were that i had previously stated, Everyday I Have the Blues, When Love Comes to Town, Rock Me Baby, Blues Boys Tune. It was believed that this began as a call and response style, which matured into the work song. As the music matured and became more renowned, its influence became prominent in the music styles of the time, and in the intertwining relationships between the races. “The music was a unique and cultural offering that whites could not deny. The music did not seem to have the same color restrictions as the music previously performed. It drew blacks and whites together in a place where everyone could leave the Jim Crow laws at the door (Overview). This offered a new and beneficial lifestyle for the blacks as well as the whites. Maybe the interest was that the white people had found a new talent to exploit and from which to make easy money, or perhaps, maybe it was because the whites genuinely understood the cultural significance in the music and respected this talent of the black race enough to overcome racial and cultural differences.
