Alessandra Potenza informed the reader on the argument of GMOs in, “The Battle Over GMOs.” Scientist have proven it to be completely safe for humans to consume GMOs in their food. GMOs are a genetically modified organism, or the result of a cross breed of plants. Also the GMO business has taken advantage of the people, because they are not labeling if the food is genetically modified. GMO’s should be labeled because it is always good to know what you are consuming; and some people prefer not to consume GMO’s.

GMO’s have opened a new world of foods to humans, and now we have countless of opportunities to use genetically modified food to a favor. Alessandra Potenza from Upfront Magazines tells us, “...The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the first genetically modified animal: a salmon engineered to grow to market size in about half the time as a regular salmon.” Alessandra Potenza later goes on to tell the reader that many restaurants are serving GMO’s.

Many restaurants such as Chipotle are not serving GMO’s. In 2015 Chipotle dropped all GMO’s in every one of there restaurants. Lena Romaldini who is a 21 year old senior who attends the University of New Hampshire, and she says; “... We’re just digging ourselves a hole that we’re not going to be able to get out of.” Lena is saying that we might not be able to escape the mess we have made with GMO’s.

To sum up, GMO’s are genetically modified organism, this means they are “Frankenfood.” Many people do not consume GMO’s because scientist do not know for sure that GMO’s are safe to eat. Even restaurants believe that GMO’s are bad, so they do not serve them. GMO’s should be labeled on all foods because it is good knowledge to know what one is
