My article for psychology is basketball, I chose this because I like to play basketball and I like to play sports. 1 Basketball psychology is the study of how mental attitudes shape its performance while on the court. Also it is the study of two primary surfaces and the application on the court. Basketball is a mental training and a physical sport. It is mentally trained because it gives the player toughness and strength while on the court and it is very important for players to be that way. Sports in general reduce can improve your mental health by stress and depression, when you are physically active your mind can be distracted from daily stressors. 2 Also, exercising can help you to reduce the levels of stress hormones inside of your body. …show more content…

1 Basketball psychology has two crucial to take in consideration. First one concentration and focus, if a player can’t handle the mental strain then the performance will degrade over the course of the game. 4 The second one is the mental game. 1 Being mentally tough is important because having mental toughness allows you to reach peak performance during the demands that you are placed in such as training, practice, or competition. Taking both of these factors proves a point.A player who goes into the game with anything less than complete commitment is a player who will not perform his best and who has already lost the mental game of basketball. Basketball demands a dedicated desire to carry the player through the highs and lows of game. To dedicate yourself you must be mentally tough to the task at hand and keep your mind focus on relevant things. 1 When the buzzer rings and the game is on, it’s the mental game of basketball that is particularly hybrid of battle strategy and mental endurance that makes or breaks player’s performance.
