My Lifelong Love for Baseball

All my life I have played games and various sports, I can’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t a part of some sports team. I loved to be outside and be a part of a team. Growing up I played baseball, I started playing as soon as I possible could. I remember playing catch in my backyard on every day that I could. The sun would be shinning with birds singing in the background as my dad and I would play catch in the green grass of my backyard. He would throw the ball as high as he could toward the bright blue sky and I would do my best to try and catch the falling ball before it would hit the ground. I would also try to field ground balls that would roll through the dandelion infested lawn. As I was signing up one of my friends was there and he suggested that I also sign up for the tennis team, so I did. I ended up not liking the baseball team and really enjoyed being a part of the school’s tennis team. I made the life changing decision of quitting baseball and starting tennis. I continued to play tennis throughout junior high school and played all throughout high school and now into college. Tennis has been a major part of my life and still continues to be a major factor in my life. Tennis was the highlight of my time during high school, I met so many new people, made so many friends, and had so much fun. Tennis has been a major source of joy for me ever since I started playing. The sport has altered my friend groups, brought joy to me, and altered my life path. A big reason why I picked to go to Otterbein was tennis, if I wasn’t going to play tennis then who knows where I might have gone to college.
