Over the years, many people have had great influence over this nation. We've had writers, artist, poets, abolitionists, presidents, and even regular citizens. If I had the choice of sitting down and interviewing one of our great leaders it would be former president, Barack Obama. Over Obama’s eight years in office, he has accomplished many great things for this country. One of former president Barack Obama, greatest accomplishments, was that he was the first African American president in the United States. He accomplished a goal that many thought was not possible. Barack Obama stated “These coordinated attacks on innocent civilians demonstrate the grave and urgent threat of terrorism. The United States must continue to strengthen our partnerships with India and nations around the world to root out and destroy terrorist networks. We stand with the people of India." He also stated that “…my first stop was the memorial at the Taj hotel to pay my respects to the victims, meet with survivors and send a strong message to the Indian people that we stand together in defense of our security and our way of life.” He expressed that the Taj has been the symbol of the strength and the resilience of the Indian people. Obama wanted to send a message to let people know that he is willing to protect us. Our future of security and prosperity is something that he was making sure that we were grasping. Having the opportunity to interview him would open my eyes to unimaginable things. His accomplishments are ones that, years ago, you would have never seen an African American achieve. His time in office helped bring a broken world together. In my opinion, there was more unity between people and other countries during his time in office, than in any other president's time in office. He assisted us in gaining better health insurance for not only ourselves but our families. He helped us to heal from a devastating moment in our history, like the Pakistan and the 9/11 attack. Obama was the first sitting president to make amends another country. Everything he did in office, he did it for his people. The people he promised to help and protect. I would love to know the thoughts behind these actions, the drive behind every thought and what made him continue to press even when odds were against him? If I had that chance to interview him for 30-minutes, I would make sure I make every minute
