Page To Page John Green once said “Great Books help you understand, and they help you feel understood”. For many avid readers, this quote sums up their entire life. Most avid readers, including myself, have come across a book that has made them feel accepted in a world full of judgement and criticism. For example, The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo is banned in certain countries. The Alchemist was an inspirational book that triggered feelings of freedom and wisdom in every page. These are all topics that everyone faces at some point in their lifetime. Book Censorship must be abolished in order to protect students freedom to choose, grant students invaluable life lessons, and encourage students to open their minds. Since students will eventually be subjected to these topics, they should have the option to read about them and get influential information on how to handle those situations. Since students do not have access to the many banned books, they cannot find a book that speaks to them mentally, spiritually, or
