Have you ever thought that making an emotional decision can cause you negative outcomes? Making these decisions can be really harmful, negative, and scary sometimes. How can one person’s decisions cause all this damage to him/herself? Study shows that it is BAD to make decisions when you’re emotional because individuals who do experience this are more intense in making their decisions thus making emotional decisions can lead to negative outcomes. First of all, making emotional decisions can lead anyone into a different path that can negatively affect you and your loved ones. For example, in The Catcher in the Rye on page 132, Holden explains to his date, Sally Hayes, that he has feelings for her and that he has the perfect idea for both of them, where they can both move away together, start a new life, get married, have childrens. A quotation from this is “We’ll have oodles of time to do things - all these things (p133)”. Similarly , to The Catcher in the Rye, Romeo and Juliet has the same emotional decision which made Romeo lose his mind. For example, during Act III Scene I, after Romeo killed Tybalt and hearing that he will be banished from Verona. Romeo goes into a serious meltdown when he thinks that being banished is worse than death. Furthermore, during Act V Scene I, Romeo hears the tragic news from Balthasar that his love, Juliet has recently pass away. After hearing these news he quickly rushes to Verona to see her, but first he stops at a apothecary for a bottle of deadly poison. He then rushes and sees that Juliet is dead this making him drink the powerful, deadly poison. Romeo felt terrible, heart-broken, and disappointed about his love’s death thus turning him into a madman.
