The Australian Curriculum suggest that it is vital that the all Australian school students regardless of culture learn about the rightful owners of the land, in this case it would be the Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders. Some schools even promote Indigenous studies as elective subject whereas others view Indigenous studies as an authority subject. It is important that students learn about their own country as well as to respect the Aboriginal people, especially young children in the early years setting. They can learn about the Aboriginal culture through creative activities such as song, dance, arts and crafts, this also helps them with their fine and gross motor skills. It is through the Australian Curriculum that students will gain an understanding that the Indigenous community are strong, resilient and diverse. The framework constitutes the underlying elements of Identity, Country, Culture and People, which is the crux of the Indigenous way of life. Their identities are paramount and is approached with great knowledge and understanding of their land, culture and people. Their knowledge of the Indigenous laws, language and literacies are formulated by the excessive knowledge on cultures. Their deep knowledge on cultures is then linked to traditions and holistic world views. For non-Indigenous students, studying the history will present the students with a challenge as well as insight into the understanding of Indigenous Australians. In some cases by studying this subject it will allow non-indigenous students the opportunity to communicate with the Indigenous Australians at their school without insulting their culture. The demand for this subject to be taught at all Australian schools is increasing, opportunities given to students in Australians schools to learn about the history of the original owners should not be taken for granted or dismissed, students will benefit greatly from the social and intellectual development derived from studying this subject. Therefore, students studying the history of Aboriginal and Toress Strait Islanders will learn that identities and culture have been, and still is a source of strength and resilience for Indigenous people in
