Audrey Hepburn is one of the greatest film icons in American culture. She set a standard of elegance for women everywhere. She took part in many films, participating in UNICEF, and also managed to maintain her social class and sophistication in everything she did. Not only was Audrey a film icon, she was also one of the most famous style muse of her time. She is a role model for children and women and for people who want to make a change in the world.

Audrey Hepburn was born on May 4, 1929 in Belgium (“Audrey Hepburn.”). She was the only child of John Victor Hepburn-Ruston and Ella Van Heemstra (”Audrey Hepburn Children’s fund-the real Audrey.”). Her father was an English baker and her mother was a dutch baroness. Hepburn’s parent split up before World War 2 began.(Cox) Audrey spent most of her youth in a boarding school in England. Her mother arranged for Audrey to spend time in the English countryside and for her to begin ballet lessons. This is what showed Audrey how much she loved dancing and music. That love never left her. After the play on broadway, Hollywood loved her. 2 years after “GiGi”, she took place in Roman Holiday (1953). She won an academy award for her character Princess Ann.(“Audrey Hepburn.”) Audrey also acted as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
