The mockingbird is an innocent bird that causes no harm. The only thing that the mockingbird does is sing for us. You can relate a mockingbird to an innocent human because if you kill a mockingbird or an innocent human then you’re both killing innocent creatures. Thus, it is a sin to kill a mockingbird. The author of the novel Harper Lee uses the mockingbird to represent different characters that are innocent.

In the novel “To Kill a Mockingbird”, Atticus introduces the concept of killing a mockingbird. Atticus states that it is a sin to kill a mockingbird because they cause no harm. Rather, they sing beautiful music for us to listen to. Atticus introduces the sin of killing a mockingbird to Jem and Scout when Walter Cunningham was over for dinner at the Finch’s after school.
