Associate degree nursing programs are an excellent way for students to enter the field of nursing, especially the adult learner population. An associates degreed in nursing is typically less expensive and is one to two years shorter than obtaining a baccalaureate degree. An associate degree is a practical choice for those who have been in the workforce for some time and are looking for a new career path, or for those with families. Obtaining an associate degree in nursing is no small feat, requiring hard work, commitment, and sacrifice on the part of the student, and in some cases their families as well. However, the associate degree in nursing should be considered a stepping stone in the pursuit of nursing knowledge through education.
