- Atheism is not a belief system nor is it a religion. While there are some religions that are atheistic (certain sects of Buddhism, for example), that does not mean that atheism is a religion. Two commonly used retorts to the nonsense that atheism is a religion are: 1) If atheism is a religion, then bald is a hair color, and 2) If atheism is a religion, then health is a disease.

Though there are religions that are compatible with atheism many are unaware of the truth. Atheism is not a religion! Atheism is a lack of belief in deities. Atheists are not a religious group. Despite the fact there are secular religions atheism itself is not a philosophy or religion.
Arguments 1: Atheists worship nothing: Lack of believe is not a religion. Lack of belief in a God is just that nothing more nothing less. Ever thing else in our lives is just like that of a religious person. We eat, we work we sleep, we laugh, we cry and we get angry and we don't blame any of it on a devil or a god. That's it, it's nothing more. It does not mean a moral code of any particular sort, it does not dictate actions, declare dogma, tell people to believe in anything, etc. It's JUST the lack of belief in any God and nothing more. All other beliefs, morals, etc that any Atheist holds are NOT dictated or required by their Atheism. Similarly lacking a belief in God is not a faith. Faith is as positive belief in something where as Atheism is merely a disbelief. The reasons behind atheism is very diverse and varies on a person to person basis, but the most common reason is the conflict religion has with science and how it contradicts itself and other such religions. The other biggest trend is the discrimination and negative experiences people have when they are still apart of a religious community weather it is discrimination against women or against homosexuals. It's remarkable how many of my friends insist I am not an atheist. It seems pretty obvious to me that I don't believe any god exists, and that pretty much makes me an atheist. Nevertheless, here these people are, so insistent that I cannot possibly be an atheist. "You're too nice," they say, or "you really believe, you just don't know it" (how's that again?). Sometimes I hear something like "You believe in something, and that is really god" or "you are still looking, but you'll find Him" (he's invited to stop by my house at any time). When I have the time to converse with these people, however, it usually comes down to this: I'm really an agnostic, they say, because I am willing to admit that I don't know there isn't any god. It is apparently so important for people to believe that I'm "really just an agnostic" that I find this to be a haunting sign of the hold religion has on people. It is tragic that the mere thought of a good friend or relative being an actual, avowed atheist is so horrible that it must be denied.

From religion, many new groups, communities and further derived religions have formed. Closely related to religion and with endless controversies surrounding it’s classification as a religion is the concept of Atheism- which is defined as the disbelief or rejection of a deity. Descending from this is a social and political movement in favour of secularism known as New Atheism. Understanding the historical content concerning the emergence of atheism, this essay will then address how various aspects within the field inclusive the goals, structures and approaches have emerged and developed over time in comparison to the original atheist ideals.
Atheists believe that if there was a God he should prevent or stop evil in the world because he should have the power and knowledge to do so. Ideally, God can limit if not banish the evil present in the world in order to help others reach their highest degree of happiness. Believing God is all-powerful, allows atheists to believe he can prevent all evil from hurting the ones who are most vulnerable and less deserving of harm. Consequently, our life would have the ability to achieve its highest degree of happiness, but the fallacy is He should not intervene because it would be a violation of our free will, evil is inevitable, and our knowledge of God’s powers are very limited.
God can be defined as a being conceived as the perfect, omnipotent, omniscient originator and ruler of the universe, the principal object of faith and worship in monotheistic religions (1). There are many people that do not believe in any religion. People who do not believe in a religion have no reason for believing in a God. People who do not believe in a God and argue against the existence of God are proving something that is completely false. There is a God for numerous reasons.
In exploring what faith really is, we must remove the stigmatism of being purely religiously based. Faith, in its truest form, is the reliance and complete confidence in a set of principles, standards, person, thing, doctrine, theory—anything that cannot be fully proven. While most of faith appears in a religious context, faith can be used in many different ways and in different subjects. The classic example of a chair comes to mind when exploring the meaning of having faith: scientifically, the person must retain the faith that the chair will hold him up when he sits down. This lies in true in science in discussing the forces of the universe throughout the galaxy, scientists cannot yet understand all the knowledge concerning the forces of space, but scientists have faith in the continuation of the forces and account for what is assumed will happen with the forces.
Let’s start off by explaining what atheism is, it’s when you don’t believe in any form of an “Intelligent Creator” or God, as usually referred to as. The word atheism comes from the root word “theism”, which is when you believe in a God, or numerous Gods depending on the religion, and the prefix “a”, which means “not”. There are no set practices of atheism, or a set list of beliefs. To be an atheist you must believe what you would like and simply live your life without constraints based on what you believe is good or bad, not what you are told is good or bad. There is a constant debate against atheism from the theist side, because both sides’ arguments are polar opposites and each believes their side of the argument is 100% valid. I will state my view on some arguments, and clarify some common atheist stereotypes.
What is religion? Well according the Dictionary it is “a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a super human agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.” But to a person who practices a religion it is much more than this definition, it is a way of life. Well then what about Atheists? What do they believe? Well many of them believe in this definition, in-fact most do. But do any believe that even though they don't believe in religion themselves, does it serve a bigger picture other than what the definition says. Yes! Emile Durkheim, Max Weber, Karl Marx all have theories on why religion is more than just god’s and rituals.
The definition of a believer is “a person who believes that a specified thing is effective, proper, or desirable” or “one who has faith in something or someone.” Faith can be further categorized three different ways. The first is legitimate faith. Legitimate faith is when someone believes in what is true. There is also illegitimate faith which is when someone believes in what is not the truth. And third, there is feigned faith which is pretending to believe in something but not actually believing. Faith is arguably something that a person either does or doesn’t have. It isn’t a choice. Buddha said: “Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” So now that believer has been defined, the next question is: what is essentially the opposite, or a non-believer?
