I disagree with the author, I think kids should play football and hockey. It builds character and toughens kids up. This is a bad topic to write on, every answer you get will be bias. The kids who play football and hockey or love that sport will say kids should play the sport. The kids who hate football and hockey will say kids should not play the sport. So every answer you get will be bias. To stay on topic tho I say that kids should play football and hockey. I wanted to play hockey as a kid but my didn't like the physicality and thought i would get hurt just like the article says. Guess what my mom hates hockey, that proves the bias point i made earlier. I still think playing those sports has many benefits to the kids.
Now I can see where
Football is possibly too dangerous of a game for young boys and girls to be playing. I am not talking about all forms of football, but more specifically tackle football. Yes, football may possibly be one of America’s loved sport because of the brutality that it consists of; although I believe that there should be an age where kids should start playing such a horrific game. At the age of ten young boys, and girls, should be worrying about who they are going to be playing with outside at recess. Kids should not have to be worried about their friends having to miss school because of a concussion, or worse him or herself.
In my 8 or so years of playing football I’ve often heard coaches liken the job of the linemen to that of a soldier fighting in a trench, pushing, attacking, and struggling for every inch of the battlefield that is the line of scrimmage. Of course, the job of a lineman is far less dramatic and glorious than that description makes it out to be, most of our job is just keeping the defense at bay so the quarterback and the rest of the backfield has time to get a play off. Unfortunately for us offensive linemen, the defense has a much larger bag of tricks when it comes to the actual clash, they can grab, pull, or simply spin by while the O-line is relegated mostly to pushing with shoulder and hand. This can make things difficult if, for instance
It was on a regular school day when then seventh grader, Macy Misfeldt stumbled on a lacrosse flier posted in one of the hallways at Superior Middle School. This flier incited an interest in Misfeldt and then prompted her to ask her mother’s permission to join the team. After being pronounced as too young to do so Misfeldt anxiously anticipated her next year.
After first reading the essay “Sports Should be Child’s Play,” I believe David Epstein made a valid point when discussing the issue of children participating in competitive sports at a too young of an age. He effectively delivered his argument by giving an appropriate amount of evidence without crowding the piece and losing the reader. There were certain sections of the essay that would have been difficult to understand without context, however Epstein was able to guide the reader and explain the evidence and situation when necessary. The title of the essay drew me in because “child's play” coincides with something that can be easily accomplished and is enjoyable. However sports, at the higher level, are challenging and are required to be taken seriously. If children are playing at competitive level too early in their life, it can cause a loss of enjoyment and be detrimental to their physical and mental health.
When I go to a gymnastics meet and do really good, so I get that 1st place medal or trophy. It feels amazing, I mean the sport gymnastics is competitive and I sure do love competitive sports. The competitiveness gets you that rush of excitement. You feel nervous, but excited to get in there and try your hardest. Kids make better choices and have committed when they have the drawbacks of participating in competitive youth sports.
“Concussion rates for children under the age of 19 who play football have doubled in the last decade, even though the overall sports participation has declined” (Youth Football Concussion Statistics). Football is extremely popular in American culture. Children all across the world love watching and playing the sport. However, many studies have shown numerous possible long term effects of starting the beloved sport when young. Undeveloped brains have a harder time recovering from bumps and blows that occur during playing time. After examining the long term effects of children playing football, it is clear that the tradition of tackle football in youth should be held off until the brain is more fully developed,
At the point when the normal individual considers the term 'sport', they will consider football, wrestling, baseball and so on. Why is walking band any diverse? The lexicon characterizes a game as "an athletic action requiring aptitude or physical ability and regularly of an aggressive nature." According to that depiction, marching band ought to in fact be viewed as a game.
Many parents will argue about whether kids should be allowed to play sports at such a young age. In my opinion, I think kids shouldn’t be allowed to play sports at a young age. When they grow older, I think that kids should be allowed to play sports. When a young athlete gets injured, coaches may not be trained for an injury and the child can suffer more serious injuries just from that. Kids want to skip practice so they will often fake an injury, serious coaches will use shaming techniques and call athletes “ladies” or man up, and athletes might not have the best protective gear, making them more likely to have a concussion. Worst of all, coaches
While it could be debated if Bettman 's theory is correct, there is no denying that the exposure the NHL has gotten, sending and risking their best players to the past five olympics has no transcended into bringing in new fans or higher television viewer ratings.
I believe schools should not force students to participate in organized sports. Medical conditions, such as asthma, prevent students from being able to participate. Family situations may leave the student with no ride to or from practice. Students may not have time to be able to
Football is not too dangerous for children to play because the coaches are taking a lot of precautions to keep children safe.
Online fantasy leagues have been gaining popularity dramatically so why try to ban them at its peak? Fan Duel and Draft Kings began on 2009 and 2012. They improved fantasy leagues websites and made it one day leagues where you can win major prizes for dirt cheap entry. Recently states have been arguing that Fan Duel and Draft Kings should be considered as gambling and be banned. A majority of people think that it is gambling and they are out to target low class people. However fantasy league experts argue that it is a game of skill and requires a lot of thinking. FanDuel have awarded over a billion dollars in prize money to contestants in 2015. There's an argument whether Fantasy sports leagues should be considered as gambling and illegal,
Are high school sports beneficial or not for students? I personally believe if a student is in a high school sport they’re forced to prioritize between school and their sport, and at a young age I believe the student would decide to use his time to improve in his sport instead of school. Which in the long run would affect his academics, unless they decide to stay up late and work on their homework to keep up with both school and their sport. But, even like that in time the lack of sleep would catch up to them, and cause them to do even worse in both academics, and sports. High school sports are like the lotto in my opinion, many play but only a few get rewarded for their work. Therefore, high school sports cause more negativity than positivity.
Someone is sitting on a stage with people clapping and people cheering, but they didn’t sing or dance, they did magic while playing a video-game. This is competitive gaming. People can see and know that gaming is fun. They are playing a sport. Some disagree with this, but many other people believe it is. The players must go to the gym for fast reactions and stamina and must be very mentally focused, and just agree to stick with the trends as well. Video gaming should be a sport.
Should students have to take Physical Education every year, or should they have the choice to participate in it or not? Schools are wanting students to take Physical Education every year as a required course. Even though most students probably don’t want to take Physical Education, Physical education should be required for all students because it increases the health for teens, students over exaggerate on the class, and it could boost performance.
