Sexual Orientation

During the very intimate stage of a women’s pregnancy there is a child being formed. The excitement when pondering the child’s gender is present. Whether the woman is fascinated on having a girl, boy or maybe she is simply happy with the fact that she will soon be able to hold her baby, it’s what you are identified as.

Growing up in church I have been taught if a person born of a gender is attracted to the same sex it is to be considered confused or contorted. As I witnessed society’s norms change over the decades I’ve realized divorces are flourishing, new technology has made pornography assessable and the once frowned upon same sex marriage is recognized by law in multiple derestriction’s.

I’ve been taught and learned to accept others as they are without discriminating against someone’s sexual preference. As this is a passionate subject, a cultural and universal practice, it is also a part of human nature and its acts is everywhere.

There are concerns in terms of politics and laws pertaining to the transgender person and their rights in America. The main reason is loving people for who they are. LGBT people are still human beings that are capable to be contributing members to society. Many LGBT people have talents and skills that can be used to benefit society whether they are doctors, engineers, dentist or businessmen etc. They are no different than a straight person. We should treat the LGBT community good not only because its morally right but because a lot of them do not have families to support. After doing research on discrimination against people of different sexual orientations I’ve learned of all the hate crimes the LGBT community have to deal with. It opens my mind to better accepting others for who they are and helps me to understand the power of opinion.
