Some americans say that nations hinge on each other, while others say they also compete with one another. This gives rise to rivalry, which sometimes leads to war. Some wars emerge from differentiation in race, religion and culture. Due to the evolution of technology in an accelerated pace, highly sophisticated weapons are now available for use in wars. Wars also bring about widespread destruction, disrupt communication and hamper commerce. Thus, they cause heavy financial loss and great suffering to people. The effects of wars often affect countries that are not involved in the conflict. The threat of war can pressure a nation to waste immense amounts of money on defense instead of spending on developmental works like creating roads, hospitals, schools, and much more. War can halt a countries development. Some countries try to achieve political desires by using terrorism as a weapon against other countries. Terrorism spreads fear in civilians through acts of violence like killings and hostages. This intimidation has transformed into worldwide threat.
Ever since the Union declared their independence from Britain in 1776, their nation has been part of a violent aspect of the world. The fight for independance cost thousands of lives for the Americans including the soldiers from the royal land. During this time, the Union had created thirteen small colonies on the east coast of the continent of North America. Throughout the following century, the thirteen colonies expanded across the continent fulfilling manifest destiny. In the process, the growing nation terminated the Native American inhabitants and took New Mexico, California, Arizona and Texas from the newly freed nat...

...n. In article five of the treaty, the boundary between the nations was determined. This primarily the borders that we had today. Since Americans were in complete control of Mexico during this time, the signing of the treaties would kick america out and give Mexico control of their new shrunken territory. The agreement also talked about if another war does erupt between them again, the countries can not hurt the innocent including women, children, ecclesiastics, farmers,merchants, rich people, unarmed citizens and many more. Houses and other respected buildings like churches, hospitals, schools and colleges can not be destroyed. The Treaty was ratified by the president on march 16, 1848 and was made official on July fourth, 1848. The Americans gave the Mexicans only 15 million for all the land they got;stealing more than half of the Mexican empire.
